so after i replaced my leaking fuel pressure regulator my jeep has taken a few seconds longer to turn over than it usually does, any ideas what it may be? i also just replaced the plugs (with champion ones) new cap and rotor and new plugs wires, the firing order is good its not missing at all just starting after several more cranks than usual. im guessing that it could be my fuel filter? i have a purolator one that the army uses on its humvees, will that work okay or should i get an oem one? also could the vacuum line from the pressure regulator have an affect on this also?

 

have you checked the timing after you replaced everything

 

no i havent, i dont think it would be the timing because i didnt move the distributer at all and it didnt start right after i replaced those things it start about two days after i did the tune up,

 

try pulling a couple of plugs and seeing what they look like and is the filter new or old

 

hopefully the plugs look good they aint even a week old yet, the old ones looked just like they normally would, the filter i have is brand new def not used at all

 

if you are having a hard time getting gas to the motor the plugs will look like they have been running hot and you may want to check to make sure the rail has fuel pressure

 

ok sweet what should i look for on the plugs to tell? also can i just buy any fuel pressure tester or is there a specific ones for the xj

 

they will have a white look to them
