4-5 cranks isn't unusual for a 4.0. Does it idle fine? Have you replaced plug wires?

No plug wires on a WJ 4.0. How did the plug insulator boots look? What plugs did you use? How clean is the throttle body? Check the MAP sensor for a cracked hose.
