Handling after 6.5" Long Arm lift
A buddy is installing a 6.5" Long arm lift (full leaf packs of course) from Iron Rock Offroad on his 91 XJ. He has no rear sway bar and his front will have JKS quick discos. His footprint will be courtesy of 33" Micky Thompsons and he is running axles from an 87 XJ with towing package (think dana 44 people). Don't forget the SYE and Tom Woods driveshaft and the Blistein 5150s.
What should he expect as far as handling. Corners? Speed? In town driving? etc.
thanks,
s

he should be great, the long arm lifts ride a hell of a lot smoother than short arm lifts, although i havent rode in a IRO lifted xj yet. Let me know how it rides because I was planning on getting their long arm upgrade next summer

I have that much lift on mine with home grown long arms. Handles great with sway bar hooked up.

Just drove it last night. Granted the stock tires and rims are on it because the new tires come in on Monday.
It drove great all things considering. There is a slight 'massage' at about 25 mphs and it tracks off a bit when you hit a bump just right. Other than that, it seems to be great and really quite smooth. We've only had it up to about 50 so far, but I'm impressed.
Any thoughts on the vibes and darting? I know it could be anything with the all new suspension and axle swaps, but the 'first things first' approach would be greatly appreciated. I'll try to get photos of it uploaded soon.
