tc drop=grease on floor?
have a 4.5 inch lift on back, working on the front tomorrow. did the tc drop at the end of the day and after i finished it, i noticed some grease in a clump on the floor...what might this have come from and should i be worried? it was located just forward of the transfer case. any ideas?
nope, never done that before...how do i do that? noob here, just trying to learn. any advice would be great. also, should i be worried if they havent been lubed in a long time? i have owned the jeep for about 6 months...
There should be a zerk fitting at the slip joint of the driveshaft. If the DS was full of grease, it could have been compressed a little when you were installing the rear lift and push the excess out. It would come out at the u-joint on the tcase.
