honestly i have the cable conversion so i can also do 2lo... but i have yet to find a reason to need it... doesnt do any good... if you gotta stop and switch into 2lo then you may as well hit 4hi or 4lo anyway... just doesnt make any sence... i sure wouldnt pay anything to have it...

so the price on the link above is with a core added on? still cheaper to rebuild yourself and buy a SYE... heck i could do this twice for the price above... my warranty is being able to fix it myself if i screwed it up the first time... plus it may have a warranty but im sure they would want you to pull it (or a shop at your cost) and have it sent back to them to fix at your cost for shipping also... for a rich city guy i could see this being a easy option but not for this poor cracker...
I posted a question about what a wire is that I pulled years ago and forget where it goes. The cap/cover is on the axle where the vacuum disco. used to be.
And.. I pay for piece of mind. I am very very good at many things and trust people who are good in their areas of expertise... maybe this is yours? I dont know.. but given your clarity of communication I would say that you are an educated man and invest your hard earned money wisely. That being said, I am a small business owner who works 70 hours a week in a bad economy. I have put my jeep last on the priority list to buy/invest in equipment for the people who work for me and count on me to not be selfish and place my wants before making their lives easier. That is why I named my XJ "the never ending project".. its been nearly 5 years since my truck has seen the road. I hate doing things twice because of the down time more than the money. I look at it as supporting the local economy and friends who have kids and mouths to feed. Rich? By no means.. just considering the cost benefit. And I like your point about having to uninstall the unit and sending it in at our cost.. so I retract that statement and say it should be done by a local guy who stands behind his work.

BTW~ I was up until 3am last night installing a snow plow on a F450 so I am a do-it-yourselfer.. just dont trust myself in the gearbox

Much love huntingman.. and hopefully no hard feelings.

no hard feeling at all... we have our opinions and thats about half of what forums are for... is to voice them... and let the not knowing people decide what theres is... i myself am a small business owner... but im not so lucky enought to be working 70 hours a week... and have no employees... i make enough to pay bills and a little extra to play which ends up being on the vehicles since i have alot of free time still and its my hobby... I wish i was working like crazy though... and even paying someone else if i could to do to my jeep the way i want... maybe one day... less then 2 years in so got along ways to go and grow... my business is in the construction industry so its gonna start slow but ill grow with the economy more then likely... but i was a technician at a dealership and a airframes and powerplants mechanic on FA-18's so im a man of many trades myself... lol... got school to back them all up also... but... im only 25 so i got alot to learn... lol... best of luck on your build and spend it wisely!

P.S. i was once called "Frugal" on this forum by someone... lol... i think it fits me well...

Thank you for the kind response. Dont be discouraged about the economy, I hear that 80% of the stimulus is still due to be allotted and will come out in 2010.. so thats good. And God love ya for serving our country.. I respect that 110%!! And I'm only 31 so... same boat The trick is to charge ppl more than you pay employees... if you dont, you might as well do it your self. You will just have to accept that no one will do things just the way you would.. its a hard lesson to learn.

I put myself through business school and have been a small business advisor to $1milion + companies. I am full of free advise of you want it.. one day I am going to create a specific service and charge.

All my best............ and keep on jeepin
