i just got my RE h&t sye in the mail today and i noticed it has no seal. it is for a 96+.
since i have a 91, i am wondering if the seal and seal housing is the only difference between the 96+ and pre 96. also, where would i get the seal housing?

why would you go with a hack-n-tap for a 231? that chit's for 242 territory.
anyways, if you need a new seal, they are only like 6 bux at autozone.

The early model 231's had a long tailcone that needs to be removed and a seal retainer added to the output housing. RE sells them.
FWIW, There's nothing wrong with a H&T SYE. I ran one for years all over Colorado and Moab.
