A crazy buddy of mine (who i will leave nameless) is planning on putting an addtional rubber coil spacer (on top of the one he already has) to add another two inches or so to his XJ. This sounds crazy to me but he swears that the guys we now that mud race cherokees that they run doubled up in all of their XJs. Has this been "successfully" done by anybody on here without problems. Im sure I need to try to talk him out of it but i need some other opinions. Thanks

its doable but dumb. your gonna have to watch out for your coil coming off the mount. why not just get longer coil so you have that much more flex???

It will be fine. My first lift was 3" which came from the Manufacter with a 1.5" and 1.5" pucks. And it rode fine for over a year.

its dumb, i'm not even sure one coil spacer is the greatest idea, but i swear i've seen it, doubled up coil spacers on a cherokee that is...i've also seen lift blocks doubled up.

Never Ever run double lift blocks on the leaf springs. If you do at least weld them together, but still not safe.

Jeep never offered a 1.5" lift nor did they offer coil spacers from factory.

I dont think he meant his first jeep from factory, i think he meant the first lift he put on the first jeep he had.

I swear though, i think the first time he tries to flex up on something the coil is conna pop out. maybe not

Nope, never did. Took it to Windrock in TN and URE in NC. 3" AAL and 2x 1.5" front pucks on 31x10.5 Buckshots. Flexed and flexed time and time again and never saw the coil come unseated. With proper shocks and bumpstops you can limit your flex and droop.

"stacking" lift pucks bothers me....stacking lift blocks...just dumb but i have seen both..how much puck has he got now? if hes going 2in ontop of 3in slap him

It seems reasonable, just get a longer upper bumpstop to retain the coil when it does come unseated.

it probably never came unseated because the shocks were not the correct length for the "lift", at that point the shocks became the limiting straps for the coils, lol

u had 33s at my place and last time i checked i parked on those 33s with my 31s ooh, lol
