The BEST place would be to the battery so you don't pick up any engine/alternator noise. It may be a small inconvenience but it assures you no noise...Tj

I used the upper seatbelt bolt to ground my rooftop lights. Seems to be good for me. You could also tap the exposed metal under the rear seat.

I always ground under the seat as well. You don't want to ground to the battery unless your amp is going under the hood. Your ground wire should be no more than 3-4ft.

I have always run pos. & neg. directly from the battery, For any amp. I've installed. I've never had any problems. Running a 1400 watt 5 channel at the present time.

Longer wire = more resistance. It's not necessarily a bad thing.

I have used any bolt under the rear seat in past cars. Nothing in Jeep now. But also make sure you have good grounds under the hood. B/c if you grounding to the body but its not grounded to the battery and stuff well under the hood it really isnt grounded well in the circuit.

I have installed amps in all of my vehicles 14 so far and ever one of my friends as well. I have found that the shortest run for the ground is best. That and don't cheep out on wires. You want wire bigger than what is called for and of good quality. That dose not mean a name you want the finest strand wire you can find to insure less restriction and no road noise. 600w amp 4 gauge wire. 1000wat amp 2.

It will put stress on the amplifier over time.
