Default Groaning noise while turning left.

Here's my problem for my 01 xj.

When I'm driving (say around 50 mph) I have this groaning noise while I'm turning left. I can make the noise loader, if I turn a little more. I checked the power steering fluid and it's good, there doesn't seem to be any leaks. If I turn right, or if I'm stopped and turn the wheel to the left, it doesn't happen. Just while I'm driving and turning left.

If anyone has any suggestions what might be causing this, I'd appreciate the advice.

Thanks.

The noise is coming from the front. It sounds like it's coming from the left side.

it sounds like a wheel bearing. idk how to check if it is and dont quote me that it is but only the real reasonable thing sounds like a wheel bearing.

x2 on wheel bearing. If you can jack the vehicle up, put your hands at the 9 and 3 position and push against the wheel, try to "rock" the wheel, and then put your hand at 6 and 12 and do the same thing.

It was the wheel bearings. I had both of the front ones replaced and that sound went away.

Thanks for the advice.

Yea it sounds like a wheel bearing , but also check the axle u-joints at that wheel. The oem u-joints are non-grease units and if they have a rusty look to them, then replace them. You may be hearing the joint binding and causing the noise when you turn the wheel. I had intermitten shudder from the stearing wheel and thought it was the power steering fluid being low, but the noise was due to the rusty u-joint.
