Grand Cherokee 4.0 in a Cherokee
Will a Grand Cherokee 4.0L motor fit in the Cherokee, What needs to be switched? Anything different with mounting the Transmission? The guy who owned this jeep before me swapped in the Grand Cherokee motor but never finished. I dont have the Alternator or power steering. Is this going to work? What will i need to do?

I just swapped in the entire alternator set up from a grand into my cherokee because it moves the alternator up 10" and eliminates the mechanical fan. Making it easy to run a second electric, it also has the same ac compressor depending on the year of the cherokee..so the grand alternator and alternator set up will bolt right in. There are a couple pictures in my build thread...

I like that Alt mod. Im gonna go ahead and do that. I just need the mount from a Grand Cherokee correct? Any Info about the Power Steering Pump and what bracket/mount i need? Thanks for the Quick Replies.
Edit: I am using a Cherokee Alt. But a Grand cherokee Power Steering pump.

Well, all of the brackets for the Alternator are the same. But the A/C compessor must be different. The one i have i dont know if its from a Grand of a Cherokee. But its too small for the Alt bracket off the Grand.
I found out that the Power steering mounts are all the same so everything is on. Now I just need to find out what belt to use. The one off the Cherokee is way to big.

The serpentine belt from a '96 Grand Cherokee is also too big by about about 3-4 inches. Any input as to why? Do we need to swap on the power steering setup from a GC. Anyone know if the power steering pulleys are different sizes from the GC to a Cherokee? I'm thinking the pulley from the Cherokee power steering box is smaller than that of a GC?
