Which is more important? Opinions needed
I think my Rear Main Seal is starting to fail, and to make sure I am replacing my VC gasket in case it has a rear leak. Anyway, I also have a cracked header. Which is of higher importance to replace?
What I really want to do is do a complete swap at the same time. While I have the opportunity with the manifolds off as well as clearance under the engine with the oil pan off, I would love to degrease and paint my block. Could the degreasing/painting/exhaust manifold/RMS/and all associated work be done in a single weekend?
Thanks guys.

have the header re welded ($25 bucks is probably waht you are going to spend) and change the intake/exhaust manifold gasket($20-$30), oil pan gasket($30-$40) and rear main($5-$10) at the same time. Might as well do the Oil Filter adapter o-ring set ($5 at checkers auto)
rough prices from memory when i did mine.
i have the part numbers for the o-ring set too if you need them. hard to find the part numbers for them... uh!
i re welded my header3 years ago and i have had no issues with it ever since

Lol, dont worry. I wouldnt tackle any of this without some help. My cousin and uncle will probably be the ones helping; both with pretty good mechanical experience. Now, what is this oil adapter o-ring? Is it hard to replace?

This is the o-ring that seals the adapter piece your oil filter spins onto to the block. Most leaks come from that or the rear main seal on the 4.0
Good luck!
Good luck!
