Does anyone know where the gov pressure sensor is for the 1996 jeep cherokee I've gotten so far the valve body completely off thinking it may be under there but nope no clue where to look

 

What's the issue?

The AW4 line pressure is regulated by the throttle valve cable and the shifts are done by solenoids.

 

So I've been having a ton of shifting issues with my auto aw4 since the get go I pulled one from a 93 grand cherokee that had the 4.0 and aw4 got it put in for the same issues to be there I've got multiple trans codes Gov pressure sensor volts to high , trans temp sensor volts to high and I have had codes to shift solenoids 3 to 4 new parts include new throttle body with all sensors, new TV cable, new tcm , all 3 new shift solenoids including tcc lockup, I've made sure the tv cable is adjusted correctly multiple times , new speed sensor I believe there's not much else to actually replace but the entire trans

 

So, you have the same issues before and after changing the transmission?

 

Yes I've checked the entire harness engine and trans harness still no clue

 

Has it ever shifted properly under your ownership?

 

No in the beginning it was in limp mode because of the fuel system being in open loop fault it was having problems going into 3rd and OD fixed that and it began shifting in and out of gears, starting off in 3rd not down shifting to 1st at WOT not going into overdrive but would go into overdrive intermittently at the wrong rpm
this was with both transmissions both had the same codes being thrown so idk

 

I gotta ask, is this a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee?

 

It's a 1996 jeep cherokee country 4.0l auto but it currently have the trans from a 1993 jeep grand cherokee since they are identical
