hey guys
So pretty much today i installed a new water pump just because ill be hitting 100,000 soon and im leaving for UTI in august so im trying to fix some problems before they occur but the thing is that it makes kinda a weird noise and from outside its alot louder than my old one. Its not too bad when im driving unless i full it than i its really annoying. I thought maybe it needs to be wore in or maybe my belts to tight or i was thinking my idler pullie IDK but its already driving me crazy.Anything i can do ?

You might want to check that the pump is seated properly and pushing coolant. The impeller inisde the pump may contact the block surface, and if there is no coolant being moved through, the bearings will possibly fail with heat. This happened to me years ago on my old Ranger (don't ask-did job 2x with 2x the money). You can also check the idler pulley to the left of the pump (passenger side) if that could be making the noise. That's an easier and cheaper fix! Good luck!...........

yaa will do. it could be the idler pullie bc i lost the washer it came with soo i had to hunt for one that would keep the pullie off the holder. So i kinda assumed it would be the water pump but i know its pushing liquid bc once i installed it i forgot a had a hole in my radiator hose and it sprayed colliant eveywhere soo that means the pump should be working Right?

LOL!!...yeah!....You can also check the upper rad hose when the engine reaches operating temp. Squeeze the hose and release it. You should feel a rush of coolant when you release it. Make sure to use gloves as the hose will be toasty! Sounds like it could be your pulley scraping against the block???? Hope this helps.

fixed the problem its was actually the idler pullie the bearing was messing all the bearing *****
