Got mad, did something that turned out right!!!!!
The dash light was on for my brakes, Master cylinder was leaking. Changed the master bled all the brakes, light still on. Started driving forward and backwards, brakes felt Great. Pissed me off started power braking in forward and reverse to see of they would hold. Then held just fine.
Then the brake light went off on the dash???????????? Maybe I should get mad more often.

I've always heard that once you fix something that's causing a code it takes three ignition cycles or a set amount of time without the problem for it to go away unless you unhook the battery to reset the ECM.

Never thought about the ECM, I did have battery cable off. Started it up several times before it was off. Hope it stays off when I start it tomorrow.

Without knowing what year your have we would all be guessing as to what and or why the brake light was on and now turned off.

COuld be the combination valve. If one system front vs rear had air or started to fail, the "valve" would switch pressure completely to the working system. This valve is where the switch for the light is. Once the problems is corrected, it may take some brake pressure to reset the switch. That's my guess.

The little switch on the combination valve is a low pressure warning switch.
It will keep the light on the dash illuminated until you push hard enough on the brakes to turn it off.
No need to "power-brake" it though. Pushing hard on the brakes while it is in Park will turn it off also.
