Bad guage or sensor? Start with the sending unit
Oil pressure should be verified with a mechanical oil pressure test gauge.

The oil pressure gauge/sending unit seems to have more posts here than any car I've ever owned, and even my Jeep gauge dives down to the high end now & then. Kinda make me wonder why the Jeeps have these problems....
Bad design ? Sure seems like it....
I'm not gonna bother changing the sender as long as it still moves someplace..

That bad design seems to be everywhere, have had the same problem with plenty of Chrysler engines. Pull the connector off of the sender and oil drips out. There must be a diaphragm in there that ruptures or comes loose.
