Default "Shudder" when pressing gas and over heat issues

It's kind of hard to describe the noise but it only happens after I've been driving the jeep for a bit and everything is warmed up. If the jeep is rolling and I push the gas it doesn't happen. If it's cold or first thing in the morning it doesn't happen. --If I press the gas from a dead stop there's a vibration/shudder until I let off the gas and press it again then it's gone (because the jeep is already rolling). I can feel it under my feet and my seat. I changed both front and rear Diff. fluid thinking it might have been something in the axles but both looked good. And it still shutters. The u-joints in the front axle are 1 year old also.

Also, for the over heating issue. If I'm driving around and stop to run into a store real quick and come back out and start the jeep up again, the temp is quite aways past 210 and kind of shakes/shudders for a minute until the coolant is flowing through everything again. It was taken in when the recall came out and had everythign it needed wrapped in the heat shield in the engine bay. Is this possibly why a lot of people cut holes in their hood? to realease some of that heat sitting in there? At no other time does it ever come close to going over 210.

TIA for any help

The "shutter" thing, I'm not to sure about......any codes/CEL?......a good tune-up/sensor inspection/cleaning maybe?

How long since cooling system maintenance? Just seems like this time of year running toasty would be a non-issue, presuming all was in top notch condition, regarding the cooling system.

As far as your shudder goes, you state it only happens from a dead stop, yes? After it has gotten warmed up?

Starting from a dead stop makes me think brakes. Maybe you have a sticking caliper? Double check all u-joints for sure, but I'd also be looking at not just the brakes, but your wheel bearings and such as well. A good driveline inspection too, all of this is just my .02, it's kind of an odd situation.

I'll give them a good check this week.

Anyone have thoughts on the heat issue? I dread turning off the jeep briefly for a store run to have it be so hot when I turn it back on. Is there an electric fan that's suppose to kick on or anything? After I turn it back on it shakes a little and then goes back to normal.

.......again, any cooling system maintenance? Efan turns on at something like 223* coolant temp and/or when refrigerant reaches X pressure on a '01 XJ. Presuming the compressor is not engaged, I wouldn't think coolant temp would ever get high enough to turn on the efan this time of year. A motor can run toasty anytime of year if one or more cooling system components are not 100% top notch.

It hasn't done it much because it is colder out but today when it was 70 it did it. Also did it most of summer/fall.

Last week I put a new radiator in and water pump. Coolant line hoses are new also. New thermostat. New fan clutch.

Now that we know the cooling system is new as of last week, does the gauge show the same thing now that it did last summer/fall?????? Any codes/CEL?

Shutter.....boy I blue that one. Did I do it again?

no codes. And yes all is the same as it was during sumemr heat. drives around normal just under 210. Run into store (after driving a while) come right out and start her up and shes hotter than two rats F**** in a wool sock..Or in other words, just over 210. Not quite at the next line but if you try to give it some gas the jeep is hesitant until everything starts flowing again. Then its back below 210.

........then I don't think internal engine temp is the issue. Maybe it's heat soak again or a fuel pressure issue.
