Goodyear Wrangler
I was wondering if anybody uses the 235/75/R15 that walmart sells for $76-$79 a tire. Just wondering if anybody has taken it off road and how it performed off road and how it did in snow and how good off a ride on pavement it has and how long you can expect it to last?
I have had those tires on my MJ and they did great! I took them out a couple of weeks ago when it snowed. They do okay on trails but i dont know about mud, Im not a fan of mud. On the road they are quiet and you really cant beat the price. Remember Wal-mart wont install a tire size that isnt factory but it really all depends. I had 235s (Uniroyals) when i went to get the wranglers so they didnt say anything. Its a great deal and if they wont mount them, just buy them and get em mounted somewhere else.

The fleet I work on use GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armor tires in every size available, they are a great tire for most conditions and hold up very well.

Good VALUE for the price, but not a good offroad tire. It is an all-season tire, more suited for a daily driver or light offroad only.
I have routinely gotten 60k from them on my daily driver when rotated every 6-8 thousand miles.

I have 6 of them on my f350 and they're great in the snow. I would assume they would perform like any other all-terrain off road.

Don't be confused. Think of the Wrangler as a family of tires.
Theres the Wrangler RT/S, Radial, Silent Armor, SR-A, A/T, AT/S, HP, HT, Duratrac, and MT/R. The ones Walmart sells are a private label, basically Goodyear is on contract with them and other retailers to produce a cheap tire for low cost & high volume.
Now, running an actual Goodyear location, I'd say a Duratrac is the way to go. Silent Armors are absolute beasts, and the MT/R is the mother of all tires. Ran a set on my last XJ, ran over glass bottles for fun with those tires.

Like said there a brand of tire. The rt/s are like an all terrain tire and they work great for "most" uses. For the money your not gonna beat it and there readily available and most tire shops get good deals on them and its gets passed to the customer. One of my biggest shops uses these all the time on light trucks and people love them especially when priced against similar tires.

I have the radials and they're not terrible at all. I've had them for almost a year and experienced very little trouble with them. They are great on road, although with the tread pattern you'd think they're amazing off road but they're only basic. They do good on most trail situations, decent in snow, and decent in mud. They also clear mud fairly well and the wider tire size (235) looks good in my opinion. they do extremely well in gravel and light or loose dirt. Idk about sand yet.

The RT/S are a steadfast tire, but rather old technology.
Compare the RT/S -

To the Duratrac

It's sorta game, match, point. I'm gonna put a set on my daily XJ for my next set, and next holiday season, when I get my yearly discount, I'm getting some 35" MT/R's for my other XJ -

Now those just scream "Merica!"

I have the exact setup that you are thinking about
the 235/75/R15 Goodyear Wrangler Radials with a 2 inch BB
Don't have any pictures of the combo but they are a lot better than my old street tires. Great in snow and decent in mud but they really shine on the road. No vibrations, noise or anything.
