and im getting this kit: http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3x.html

And as for speed bumps was the one you hit not yellow? thats the only way i notice them, and if i got people in the jeep with me i make sure i go slower over them.
Looks like a good kit.

I'm referring to a "Speed hump" not a "Speed bump." I'm not sure if you have them in your area, but they are a high, stretched out speed bump. About 8 feet in length, 9-12 inches high, and curb to curb. Feels like you hit a curb head on at 30. Honestly a horrible decision by city officials. They are marked for 15mph but hitting them at 5mph hurts. The one I hit was on either an old road, or a new road which had no paint and no signs the entire length. Could have easily sued the city for the damages to my vehicle, but I'm not that type of guy. If you dn't already have them in your area, pray they don't arrive.

Those look pretty nice but I've heard some pretty nasty things about retreads in the past. Do your research before you buy. I would also recommend watching local used tire shops and craigslist frequently. You can find some good deals cheap, you just have to check the right place at the right time.

I had a set on the back of my 76 dodge 3/4ton that i used to have and they never gave me a problem, and my brother in law used them for the from of his 76 3/4ton and had a half and hour drive on the interstate and never had a problem, same tire just different size. And believe me ive been gettin on craigslist every day looking for cheap tires. their was a set that i wanted but by the time i got back on to get the phone number they were gone..

Thanks, its actually the original color. In person its really faded. Havnt done alot with it really. We put a 2 barral intake on it and were getting a disk brake setup tomorrow. Its a 232 straight six and runs 12s in the 1/8th and that was spinning from the start. Hopefully before the end of the year it will have a 4.0 in it, just depends on if the jeep needs it first. When everything is said and done it will be a dark blood red with a 4.6 stroker motor with a turbo!

I know it's factory paint, that's what makes it so cool. Aughta be a pretty nasty ride when it's all finished.

A friend of mine has been building XJ rock crawlers for twenty years. He recommended Zone kits to me just last night. They don't have the "no fine print" warranty of BDS but their components are build by the same company and are every bit as good a product...at less than half the money.

He recommended Zone's 3" AAL kit. For $290 including shocks it's the best deal out there for quality goods.

Let me add that I know NOTHING about any of these companies and NOTHING about lifts but I know the guy giving me advice.

Does it have to be adjustable? And why does it need the heim joints?
