Default Gel Covers for bulbs

I had to recently replace some bulbs for the instrument cluster but the little gel pieces that prevent overheating were stuck to the old bulbs, so I am sure this has happened to others, where can I buy the little blue bulb covers?

Take some pics of what you are talking about. I think I might know what you are referring to, and if I'm correct you'll probably have to go to a junkyard or something. Usually the case for wierd items like this.

Pics x2...

I'm pretty sure it might be the ends that go to the bulb when plugging into the cluster and I haven't seen those but the junkyard... I could be wrong also...

Not sure what they're actually called but when I worked as a tech for an amusement vender they were on pretty much every pinball machine I ever worked on.

If you are used to the blue you won't like the "orange" illumination from a bare 194 bulb.

You could buy some led 194 and be done with it. They use less power, also dont put out very much heat.

$30 for 3 covers, they should be kicked in the nuts.

The Pep Boys recommendation is the one! That is a reasonable deal.

I searched via Google and eBay and came up empty when I was trying to solve this. I found covers on eBay but they were for the small "grain of wheat" style bulbs found in car stereo faceplates.

I just bent over and took it from the dealer for $12 a bulb for a replacement bulb/socket/cover assembly. $60 later I had 5 new bulbs and factory correct illumination. I wasn't interested in changing color, intensity, etc. as I was happy with and wanted stock dash lights. Wish the Pep Boys thing had come up then, could have saved a little better than half on new bulbs and covers.
