And I will be installing an aussie locker up front- will that make a difference as far as having to buy new carrier to re-gear?

What size tires are you getting? That makes a difference with gears.

well to get into your stock rpm range it suggests 4.56 not 4.10. 4.10 look to be a little sluggish over the 4.56

regarding gears..... so many companies. you need to do some homework and figure out what company you want to go with. also when you buy cheap gears you get crap. buy some quality gears ie: yukon, superior

Are you sure about the 4.56 with 33" tires? cuz a calculator I was using it came out with 4:56 gears that in overdrive taching 2200 rpms would only be about 62 miles and hour.. Is that about right? And to go 70 it would be taching close to 2500 RPM's.. seems kinda high to me but maybe I am just used to my truck

I geared to 4.56s with my 33s and my speedo was almost dead on so I'd say they were about perfect. Just a thought, new carrier will be $50-75 and Aussie is $250. For a few bucks more you can buy a full case locker. The carrier is the weak link with lunch box lockers and that way you bypass that.

Make sure you regear both axles at the same time or you'll be looking for trouble.
