Question gearing question

ok so first off if this should be in cherokee chat i apologize, anyways i have a few questions about gearing first off if i wanna give my jeep a little more ***** (give it more speed) should i regear front and back axles? will that affect the speed? im running 33s with d30 upfront and chrysler 8.25 in the rear. second would swapping axles give the jeep more speed? or would i still havta regear after swapping axles for this to happen. when i get to about 55mph is when i feel the jeep starts to struggle to gain speed higher then that, thanks for you input guys and sorry if its worded kinda confusing.

If you currently have stock gears, then the answer is yes. You need to regear both front and rear axles. 4.56 gears will get you back to the performance level your rig had with factory rubber on it.

All over the place. There are simply too many sources to even begin to try to list them.

Prices vary from vendor to vendor to vendor.

check out national drive train. good prices and fast shipping. your gonna need the ring and pinion along with install kits, in order to do 4:56 in a dana 30 u MUST get a low ratio carrier about 40-70 bucks depending on who you use.

Ring and pinion are your gears. You will need ring and pinion for front and rear, install kits:bearings, seals, ring gear bolts and shims, and a new carrier for the front. Several places do package deals and can save you some coin. If you don't plan on installing them yourself which involves some special tools check some local axle shops because they will be able to get a better deal on parts than you. Some won't install your parts or charge more to use yours.
