Gear ratio?? No tag

Picked up a d30 hp. Supposed to be matching ratio as the 8.25 I got from the guy. The 8.25 is 3.55 but the d30 has no tag, any ideas with this pic?

I know 90% of the XJ axles had 355s just want to make sure

Turn the ring one turn exactly and count the rotations of the yoke. If it turns 3 1/2 times you have 3.55s, 3 3/4 is 3.73 and so on.

Count the teeth on the ring and pinon and divide them easy way. Just mark a tooth

Yep. Or use the numbers stamped on the ring gear. Pic isn't clear enough or I woulda done it.

thanks guys. 39 ring teeth x 11 pinion teeth. 39X11=3.54.....
