I have had gas in cars sit for years and it starts and runs. I would say the fuel pump is worth looking into though. Listen for the pump turning on when the key is in the RUN position. The pump should turn on for a second or two.
Do a fuel pressure test at the fuel rail also.

It's a 93 Chevy 1500 z71 350 all factory even the old cassette player in the dash. It's. Coming on maybe the sock hmm guess ill be messing with now. Man I was wanting to work on my jeep but maybe I need a favor in the future.
In the last couple of years the EPA has taken away alot of additives that made fuel last longer.
Nowadays, fuel degrades within about 2 months. If it's sat for a year, then the octane and burn efficiency is pretty much gone, You could throw some octane booster in it, with a couple gallon of fresh gas, and just try to burn that crap out, or drain it. Might wanna run some injector cleaner in with it also as it's probably going to gum up the injectors.

Better drain tank and replace sock on pump and new got a plan now time to start thanks for info I use 87 gas in my jeep and the only time it sits is if broke or I ran it out of gas and am walking with gas to gas station Ahh fun times
Also, if you know your not gonna drive it for a month or two, put just a bit of Sta-bil into the tank. I have 3 cars, and usually one of them sits for a backup, so I always have a bottle on hand.

sta-bil won't help gas that's already bad.
You have to either pump out what's still in there, or fill it at much as possible with good gas and work the old stuff out

If it sits for two months, fuel quality begins to deteriorate. That doesn't mean it won't burn, but it starts the process of deterioration. That doesn't mean you can't get by with it, but why would you try.....
If I see any chance of fuel sitting longer than 2 months, I add Sta-Bil. It is well worth the few cents that it costs for this additive to prevent varnish from contaminating your fuel injectors and fuel system.
