fusible link issue...please help
hi guys. I am new to the forum, and have an issue I am hoping some of you ccan help me with. I have a 1995 cherokee with a 4cyl engine. recently my battery died from non use, and I tried to charge/ jump start the vehicle with a battery charger. the charger had a 50 "boost" mode. I tried to start the engine while the charger was still connected. since then, I have no power of any kind (lights, gauges, etc)
I was told this is a fusible link issue. My questions are:
1) does this seem like a plausible diagnosis or is it possibly something else?
2) If it is the fusible link, where the heck can I find it / them? I did some online research and saw a picture of it.... it looked like 4 red wires connected by a small piece of what looked like shrink wrap.
Needless to say, I cant seem to figure out this situation. All feedback appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no real way to check fusible links, except to actually check every single one, and replacing all that is a big job. For a shop or for you

ah ok. not what I was hoping to hear. So... where the heck are they and how many of them are there? any other ideas or suggestions?
Someone posted that I should try running a wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the positive wire on the alternator and see if it starts then or has power. is this valid or no?

There is one main fusable link at your starter relay, that is if you have a starter relay.
It all depends on the style of starter you have, do you have a starter with the solenoid mounted on the starter or is the solenoid on the fire wall.
Either way the fusable link is at either your starter relay or your firewall mounted solenoid. The starter relay is on the fender cover next to the battery the fusable link is running from your battery to the starter relay.
It is your main feed for all accessory's on the jeep. The way you check it is put an ohm meter on it on both ends and if there is continuity on both ends then it is good but if there is no continuity then you have found your bad link.
They look like thick wire and are on the positive side of the battery, usually they will show signs of electrical short, "sometimes".

still not working please help..
ok so I have been trying to fix this issue for a while now. thanks for the pm's... the diagrams were helpful, but it still isnt fixed. when I use a test light and connect it to a ground, it shows that I have power to my starter. Im assuming this means that the fusible link (where ever it is I still cant find it) is good. Is that correct? if that is the case, then it would be from the starter to the alternator no? Is there a fusible link on the alternator? I see what looks like a black box with some wires running to it attached to my alternator... please help.
