Hello, I recently purchased a bone stock XJ and have loved it so far. I drove it a good while home and noticed that the transmission would randomly choose when it did or didn’t want to shift into overdrive. I ran the codes and it read three different codes, I don’t remember the exact names of them but I know that it was o2 sensor, evap (p0443) and trans range sensor.
These all pointed me straight to check fuse 10 in the cab. I checked it and someone had wired in a 30 amp fuse and a connector into one side of it. So I pulled that out and put the correct fuse in and i then realized the person who did this stole power for the blower motor switch as it no longer worked after I pulled that wire out. Once I had replaced the fuse it then started running weird and would randomly just cut out for split seconds and when it would go into overdrive it was more violent. It even died a couple of times, so I pulled the fuse and put the wire back how it was, and im now having no problems except bad fuel economy and random overdrive just as it was when I bought it. What should I do here? Could it be that the evap is all of a sudden working now and the computer has to adjust? Could the evap system be clogged? what’s causing the weird running issues with the fuse properly in? Thanks
