couldn't you get a good magnet, drag it along the outside till it found the socket, and keep dragging it towards to opening it fell into? yuo know.. ever moved a washer around a wooden table with a magnet under the table???

yeah it has been a great idea you will always have sockets for the trails

you just cant get to them

I did this on my comanche. i went to kmart and got a craftsman expanable magnet and it took me 2 minutes and i got the socket out. Just got to get one with enough magnet to just move the socket and still be able to fish it down there if that makes any sense haha
