full or mid with axles
You should do a lot of research first. There are endless options out there. Rear will be easy and good luck with the front end, a lot more extensive.

I plan on swapping a ford 8.8 rear once I find one(should be easy now with cash for clunkers)
Ring gear is bigger then the C8.25, came stock with disk brakes, and most came with 4.10 gears.
Front I'm leaving alone, because of the HP factor.

If you are going to swap in front and rear the best is the F150 front D44 high pinion and 9" rear. You will have bracketry problems. One of the slickest I have seen lately used the stock Ford arms that were extended and had a ball joint on the end. That is much easier than trying to match the XJ bracketry. Rear is easy with a spring pad relocation. Steering will be custom.
you will fine this axil in the ford explorer 92 and newer, I think.
96-98some were in there, thay went to dick brakes. Dick brakes are better not just for braking but in case of a axial breaking. This will keep the axial in the housing allowing you to limp back home. note: most came with limited slip , 410 gears and are 2" narrower.
for your front ... here's the ??did you know?? Go fine a grand cherokee v8 and git the front axial shafts. the are equivalent to a dana 44 axial and will work in your front axial + no more 3 piece axial
now i dont know how this will all hold up to my 4.3 vortec but its what i plan on running.
