Default 97 fuel smell?

I'm working on a 97 grand cherokee and the owner tells me that it smells like fuel bad enough to make her sick. i have checked the lines from the tan to the fuel rail and can not see any wet spots or fuels stains any where near the lines. i can not figure it out. any ideas???

Check it while it is running around the fuel rail,it is possible it is leaking from the rail and is evaporating as soon as it hits. If you cannot find it have a shop do a smoke test on it,that will find any leaks.

Spraying starting fluid around the intake will tell you if you have a vacuum leak, but if you had an injector leaking it does not do anything,my exsperience is it does not take much of a leak,The other thing to look at is the evap system and make sure it is tight and all lines are in place, you will not see a leak it only removes vapors.
