fuel tank o-ring
After swapping out my tanks last weekend I finally got a chance to fill up my XJ today and just my luck the O-ring on the tank and pump is bad. poured gas at the gas station and on the way home. I've tried RTV and still leaks, less but still leaking. I looked around but can't seem to find just the gasket for the XJ metal tanks. Any one got an idea where I can find one or a way to seal it up?

I did not fill up my tank...how I discovered that the o-ring is not sitting right....move forward n reverse and do hard braking....if there is a leak...u can smell and see the wet area....
I did buy a spare o-ring....found it in ebay....
If there is no tear on ur o-ring....they might not sit right....

Never done it on the Jeep yet but I've done it on Camaros and S10 Blazers.
I always clean out the area where the 0-ring and lock ring go back real good. Then I smear some formagasket on the 0-ring and set it in place, then I sit the sending unit/etc. in place and put the lock ring in place and drive it to the point where it is good and tight.
Haven't had one leak yet but there's always a first time.
