Default Fuel smell

ok, I had a brand new gast tank put on my Jeep about 2 months ago. Ever since then I have had a fuel smeel coming from the Jeep. IT is odd but if I corner to the left I smell it even more. I went under the Jeep to check for leaks and did not see any....any suggestions?

It could possibly be a hose or vacuum line off or loose, take it back to them and have them check it out...Tj

I got the same problem guys (hey, new to the forum here from Virginia)
wonder if ANYONE can for sure pinpoint the fuel smell?
I have had this beauty for over ten years now and it always annoyed me in the summer when the cabin would fill with the smell of gas when drivin' down the road when outside temperature is over 80 deg F. There is no fuel or oil leaks whatsoever in this Cherokee as I have taken real good care of her over the past ten years.
I have 260,000.00 miles on her and she runs just great!

Its just that freaking fuel smell.....please if anyone knows precisely what the issue is I would really welcome the feedback.

I have checked everywhere for loose hoses etc (on gastank etcetcetcetc) nothing loose.

I just read somewhere here (after doing a search) tha someone had a cracked exhaust manifold? how would that smell like gas? its alrready burned up after going out the exhaust port isn't? and it would smell more like exhaust fumes than gas fumes.

And I DEFINITLEY have fuel smell in the cab.

anyways, appreciate anyones help and I will be back to ask other crazy questions to get my girl up snuff for some trekkin!!

many thanks!

like TJ said check all hoses coming off the tank when the tem gets hot the fumes expand and push their way out of the tank anyway they can find hence the smell of gas with no leak probably a c racked or broken hose check the smaller hose next to the filler hose that is a releif hose for filling the tank it might be cracked or broken

Could be one of your gas tank vent lines was not re-connected at the tank. I believe some of them go to the top of the tank so you may have to drop the tank down again to check all of the connections.

check in the engine bay. There is a evap canister by the oil filter. there are some hoses that tend to dry out and crack. they are for fuel vapor. One of those lines are directly connected to a vent line directly from the tank.
