my 87 died a few months back. so a near by shop drove over and hooked up some kind of scanner, idk if thats how he figured out my problem but it helped i guess. my ICM went on on it so i just replaced that one on the 87

take the coil and the module under it and swap see if it starts

haha nice. and yes my 87 runs, its just got an oil leak. i just swapped the ICM and Coil as one unit and my 87 still started. 89 no fuel still. and I have good blue healthy sparks

if it does swap the parts i told you idont loose track which part cam off which truck their is also a module in the dist and a crank sensor bolted to the top of transmission mines standard not sure yours in same olac switch those untill it starts it pays to have 2 xj i have a 94 also

yeah its good to have two xj. um the crank sensor looks like its been replaced, it doesnt look like the original 89 crank sensor. my friend did a volt meter test a couple of days before it died and said its still good. (If you remember the other thread I posted it explains about how i bought it not running, rewired the distributor, started it and drove it home)

swap the module in the dist i think it just a couple of screws or do the whole dist bu mark some wher which way the rotor was pointing you have to put them in the sam spot they came out

i think you got the idea now ive got to get some sleep make sure you make marks on the rotors and block or some wher as an alingmet mark to reinstall in same place or they will not start

nah the distributors fine. i alredi checked to see if it was aligned right. and im getting good spark, i just have a fuel issue. but ok man, you go get some sleep. thanks for all your help!

if you have spark is their gas in the xj in the begining you said you had spark for just a second and then it was week im confused under the dash ic the computer by the drivers knee swap that

just wondering how you did i did the neon injector swap today it works i put 703s in mine big difference i still think you should swap the dist just to make sure
