Default Which Fuel Pump To Buy?

2001 XJ 4.0L. Motor is all stock. 111k on the clock. Fuel pump is failing, so I need to replace it. I'm seeing lots of brands of fuel pumps available. I'd value reviews from this site more than what I see on the websites selling the pumps. Any suggestions about which are good and/or which are ones to definitely stay away from? I'd rather not do this job twice in the near future. I'll spend the money for a proven product if it makes sense to do so. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Bosch fuel pump modules are OEM and have been proven to be the best.

Second in line would be the Carter module.

Never use an Airtex module. Airtex modules are hiding under repackaging so stay away from all others besides Bosch or Carter.

On my 2000 I went with Bosch #67658.

Here is a good vid on how to replace the fuel pump for 97-01

X3 on the Bosch. Mines been in for a couple of years, no issues.

Excellent. Thanks guys. Advance has a 20% off deal right now, so I can save about $70 on the Bosch. Looks like I have my Father's Day planned.

Learning my lesson on these coupons....the Bosch assembly on advance is like 350, then you save 70 on the coupon. Net 280 plus tax.

Amazon below, same part number. I support the local stores as much as possible, but some of the big stuff is worth shopping.

I thought I read a post a few weeks back about a guy on here who bought a bosch and spent some coin on it just to have it arrive and say airtex under a sticker.

+1 more for the Bosch. I got mine from Amazon. Get the complete module and not just the pump. Sure your fuel gauge sender is probably fine, but the complete module also includes new strainers, new gasket and a new pressure regulator/filter unit all in one clean shiny ready-to-install package. The lower strainer (which was totally clogged up on mine) was tiny from the factory, but the one that came with the new module was quite large.

Also, you'll probably have to saw off the J-bolts that hold the tank up, so it wouldn't hurt to have a new pair handy.
