Way to remove window trim pieces

Way to remove window trim pieces
Is it easy to remove the window trim (exterior) for the front and back windows (not quarter windows). I'm prepping my xj for paint and want to see if this is something that is worth doing or if it is easy to break something.

All of mine pulled off pretty easy. Not sure if that's normal. I painted them and painted them. They went right back on and aren't loose or anything. The way that they were formed makes them kind of pinch the metal where they mount onto the door. If I remember right even the bottom part with the felt on the inside pulls right off easily.
