Well, finally been able to start trying to do some work on the ‘92 Laredo I’d picked up. Shortly after I bought it the fuel gauge quit working. Then some things happened where it’s sat for a while. I figured I should get rid of the old gas and not pump that stale gas into the engine. Since the pump was working when I parked it, and comments talk keeping the original over a replacement, I thought I’d pull it and see if I could clean the sender and get it working. After pulling it out I don’t think that’s a viable plan!
Also wondering if I should replace the tank as well. As you can see there’s some surface rust, but the vent fixture gaskets are pretty soft and the interior looks like cattle water tanks with all the slime. Any comments on replace or try and clean?
