Default Fuel Injector Leaks

I've had this rail and injectors off and on three times today and a few times this year. Seems to be ok then leaks. Is it possible for the body of the injector to be leaking and not the o-rings? I've got the right o-rings (from Chrysler), lubed up and on the rail with the clips etc. It doesn't look like it's leaking from the rail but the injectors are "wet" after a few primes.

Pulling hair out!

Absolutely and it's a known issue. contact Programbo here on CF for some of the later upgrade fuel injectors.

X2^. Also with good light and magnification I can see little "nicks", on a number of O rings I happen to have that I, or others had installed.

I'll be updating this here below after today's fill-up later..., I'm using the last of the light to swap my T_Stat.

OK-Then it's new injectors for me. I've had enough messing around. I can get that rail off in record time though. Is it the Dodge Neon injectors that are the best bet for the Renix or is there something better? Rock auto is around $40/injector for stock.

Hold your horses. At least on 23 lb/HR 703's in a 90> 87 Renix Jeep. They work great! , (and are an improvement over stock). There are other injectors that have the improved 4 hole design that might work gust a tad. (or two) better than the Bosch # 280 255 730' s. (I checked allot of Neons, found them In Lebaron/Seabrese.)

I knew you'd chime in once the sun went down. You've got hands-on experience wth both of these injectors.

Thanks Cruiser-I did search his user name but it looks like he's selling injectors for later models. Isn't there an issue with the newer styles not fitting the rail? I've got an '87 (with a '91 engine). I bought a used rail off a member and I'm hoping to get that set up as a test rail so I can see which injectors I have that leak. I've got 13 injectors but at least three leak at the body. Hard to test them without having them on the rail unless there's an easier way. At least it's warmed up a bit up here. It's been a lousy winter for working in the driveway.

Thanks DF. I don't mind putting in stock injectors (as long as they're good).

It IS a later injector that you want, just the correct ones.

I get it. I'm gonna wait until my rail comes in, put my spare injectors on there and pressurize it, leave it sit and then check for leakage/wetting.

A question on the o-rings: On the rail side, do you use a spacer and black o-ring? One kit I got has a hard plastic yellow ring that looks like it was meant for a spacer but none of the injectors on the rail I took off had any spacers. The kit also came with a blue rubbery cap. Again, my original setup had only brown and black o-rings. Puzzling? Or did the PO just not have this set up right in the first place.

Never used anything but o-rings on injectors.

Cruiser-You were right-Those injectors started leaking at the body again. I changed one, then another would start. Sent a PM to programbo so hope to get a set of 703s in place of the old tubbies. Got over a year out of old junk yard ones but I'm tired of swapping out 1 injector at a time.

Hope he's still in the injector business.

Programbo great to deal with just received a set from him last week they looked like they brand new. He does a very good inspection, cleaning, new filters, O-rings and the shipping is included in his price.

He does stay in touch if you need any help before or after the sale.
