That little vacuum line won't make the idle race. Unfortunately he has another problem. Ever pulled the line off your map just to see what happens? Not only should it idle very rough, but you need a pretty good sized vacuum leak to get that kind of rpm. Definitely needs to put that vacuum line on though. Oh ya and its a metered orfice. Make sure you get the correct tube.

 

cut out the rotted sections of the vacume line and sleeved real tight around it with new vacume line. the bottom pic i havent replaced because i have no idea how to remove it. gonna hit a jy today and see if i find anything
