Default Front U-Joint Help

investigating the loud clicking noise tonight and found it was the u-joints not the wheel bearings. anybody have any tips on dissasembling the u joints? i got one clip off so far but after that then what? And also is there supposed to be anything holding the axle shaft into the diff? Thanks

Check out whoweys tutorial in technical\ how to section. Its the 2nd page and the dana 30 is the one the tutorial it is done on, Hope this helps.

No.. D-30 shafts jsut slide in and out... just be careful when putting the shaft through the axle seal as not to damage it. Also make sure the shaft is clean to keep any crap out of your diff.

yea make sure you use a 13mill 12 point socket for your wheel bearing bolts.. if you don't use 12 point you will F*** the heads of the bolts up.. oh yea and spray everything around it with some PB blast after the rotor is off
