doesn't that bolt go through the bar and into a nut that you can just replace? a nut with a tab welded to it?

I'm happy that I'm not the only one this has happened to. Well you already have busted one side of it. Take a pry bar and open up the pocket that the track bar mounts into. This will allow you to move the track bar toward the front bumper. Then put a cut off wheel in between the track bar and the backside of the "pocket" you could also use a sawzall. After the bar comes out you can fiddle the nut with the tab around until it comes out. It took me around a hour so don't get discouraged, might help to take a break once in awhile.

we wish we lived in texas, we live in the rust belt. The bolt is rusted to the sleeve in the track bar.

you will probably have trouble with the end that bolts to the frame. The nut is kinda hidden, I soaked mine a week earlier it still gave me trouble. Its a 17mm or 18mm, could be wrong but it sucked.

my bolt got jacked up too. Once we got it out my buddy had to stack about thirty washers on a replacement bolt. That this is a real booger

were i live ,and its been this for years, if we get an inch of snow the city puts down 2 inches of salt so i knew i was gonna have problems with rusty bolts, i just thought that the way that bolt looked after the head broke off and how the nut was inside that steel box that i was really screwed. o well i look at it more closely tomorrow and probably have to use my lil oxy map torch just get that bushing sleeve to move

I did my time in the crusty rusty salt dropping states, including Illinois, quint cities area. Remember seeing way too many nice new vehicles come apart in chunks. Especially 70s and 80s

the tie rod end of my trac bar broke off inside of the mount and trying to remove the nut broke the other end off. yes its from NY. so i had to drill it out with a HEAVY DUTY drill... no joke HEAVY DUTY drill bits. about 3 hours of drilling, cursing, spitting, cursing and drinking.

a little trick i learned on the ball side is that if you cant get it out take the mount off the frame and do it on a bench makes it alot easyer to beat on
