On my UK version the nuts in the frame rail were M10. I used 3 bolts for the frame rails and 3 M8 nuts/bolts for the front edge.

Yes, mine's the '97-01 model. There's quite a difference between M8 and M10. Approximate socket sizes are 1/2" and 11/16".

The front skid plate is useful when your at stock height and plowing thru woods and the like. When your lifted and you hit something that will damage it, its going to hit the tie rod anyways and bend it

I noticed just from a 2" lift there's a lot more peeking out from behind the skid than there was at stock height. I've been thinking about taking it off just to lose the lbs.

I read here earlier that it is good for stopping the alternator from getting splashed by mud & water.

Found one on craigslist for $30 & he threw in a t/c skid too!

Yes that is a transfer case skid. If you have those two you probably have a skid over the gas tank as well.

Yep thats it. Sounds like your jeep came from the factory with the skid plate option. Or the previous owner put them all on.

Haha the radio was the first to go on mine as well. The t-case skid doesn't give all that much protection but its better than nothing.
