Default front end questions...with a leaf spring query

Haven't been on here in a while...I wrecked my 90 and just bought a 98...

Problem....If I go around corners with any type of speed, the steering seems loose and wobbly...once around the corner, it feels fine...Any suggestions?

I think it could be an alignment issue, hubs, loose steering (tighten up the linkage)

Leaf spring question. I just replaced the leaf springs. No major changes in geometry...more or less it fixed the sagging issue...

While changing the left side, I couldn't get the front bolt to seat all the way...maybe my impact wrench wasn't strong enough...but the right side went on just fine...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks...and its good to be back

a little hard to tell you over the keyboard without being able to look at it in person.

I do know that those bolts for the leaf springs seem to bind up when threading them in sometimes. did you try putting any wd40 inside the hole before putting the bolt in? Im sure there is a lot of junk in there to help bind up the threads and/or cross thread it.

I would have ran a tap through the bolt hole to freshen the threads up

I want to thank every one for the responses and suggestions....It turned out that as soon as I left the tire shop, I lost the weights in my rt front tire...hahahaha...But when I inspected the u joints...it turns out that they need to be replaced...fun!!!

Now

I just added another 2 inches to the lift...let me tell ya...wow!!! What a pain in the ***!!!! I went through 2 bottles of heat...Finally done...

So now the problem is...I need to lower my t-case member...(and yes...I have an SYE on the rear, do I need one on the front too???) about 2"...went to remove one of the bolts, heated it for about 5 minutes...still snapped it...hahhaha...Nothing has been easy with this lift...

My question is, I need to extend the bolts by about 2"...2 of the bolts have nuts instead of bolts...how do I the posts out of the frame? Is there a trick?

I appreciate any help....I'm anxious to drive this thing...especially with winter about to hit...

You have an SYE and you're trying to drop the transfer case? You're doing it wrong...

What's the issue?

I have a grinding noise coming from the left front...as I was driving (slowly) i opened the door, wasn't the wheel like I thought...so it's either the gear box or the front u joints at the drive shaft...that's the problem...other than that, it runs well...FYI I haven't changed the lower or upper CA's yet...I know that plays hell with the geometry... Just outa curiosity, how is it wrong? I've seen 6" lifts with both SYE and a lowered crossmember?

How do you know it's not the "wheel" (rim? lol)? Could be a ton of things, you have to put the Jeep up on stands and play with the front end until you find the source of noise. U joints and brakes are good suspects but don't rule out the hub bearing.

Transfer case drops are a bandaid to correct problems that arise from lifting when a CV shaft isn't used and the U joints of a single-cardan shaft are operating at non-identical or extreme angles. Have you ever seen this before?

Note the last pic has the diff pinion pointed upwards. Shims are required to achieve that.

And just because you've seen other people do it doesn't mean it's right, or a good idea. Plenty of tars run blocks on leaf springs and do wiring with masking tape...
