front end hops when turning sharp

Default front end hops when turning sharp

any ideas? fine when i go straight and a slight turn but front end hops and almost locks up when turning sharp in either direction? could it be a simple as an alignment?

what year, axle, transfer case?
Got a front locker?

2001, i think np231 t-case ( I think), d 35 front axle.

Not a d35 up front. Low pinion d30. Sounds like you're in 4wd from what you're describing.

You're either in 4wd or the ujoints in the front axle are bad and binding up.

not in 4 wheel, How can I check the front u-joints? there is not noise or popping or anything?

mine is doing the same exact thing. it feels like its in 4wd when you turn sharp but its in 2wd. im pretty sure it my left u-joint, already changed the right one just havn't gotten to the left yet..

Sounds about rite mine are due to replace also. Does any one recomend the best u joint to replace it with thanks

This happens to me only sometimes as well. And I just changed my U-Joints and still get it only when I crank really far.
