Default Front end bearings!

My front end has been howlin away, getting worse and worse so i finally decided to park her and take a look. Has anyone done just the bearings in the front diff? I've got the cover off and removed the 2 brackets that hold the gears in, i was told you just pry them out but i want to make sure i'm not going to break anything. Orrrr... if there's anything i need to know b4 tackeling this project. I'm not the greatest person with this stuff but i'm doing it myself to learn, so anything helps! thanks

Before going after the carrier bearing that takes special tools I suspect the noise is from the U joints or the wheel bearings. I just replaced mine yesterday and really quieted the noise down.

I followed the directoins in a post I read but can not find again.
These other posts have a few sets of directions.

Search for other posts , there are many with great hints. The job was not too bad, getting the u joints out of the axle shafts was a bio of work.

If you do not have a service manual look at:

If it is your inner bearings by the gears and you have never done any gear work before let someone that has do the work harder on pocket but easier on you.Check outer bearings first like above states.
