Have 99 cherokee np 242. I was wondering would I experience any issues if I remove my front drive shaft I want better gas mileage and I don't plan on wheelin for a lil bit until I fix the things I broke
Removing the front driveshaft on a vehicle with traditional 4wd wouldn't gain any fuel economy.. If it were a primitive version of AWD eg; an early Grand Cherokee then yes it would increase fuel economy becuase it is always locked in.

Diesel the 242 is part time with the full time option and the 249 is full time but i would i see any difference is mpg i thought less drag would equal better fuel economy?

If your front drive axle is disengaged there will be no resistance to your transfer case as it won't be engaged effectively giving you the results of not having a drive shaft. right?
