I was changing my front pads today and I noticed that at the u-joint that connects the front axle rubs against the exhaust downpipe. It has dented in scrathed the heck out of the exhaust. Also I posted before that I heard a clicking noise when in 4low. Could this be the noise I heard? Why would there be no clearance between the u-joint and the pipe? I tried the 4low again today and it made the noise again after turning the wheel. Never makes the noise in 4high just 4low. Thanks for the help. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow when it's light out.

Pictures will help. Perhaps your springs are sagging bad enough that it's a "lowered jeep" and it's causing the shaft to be closer to it? Did you have or know of any exhaust mods?

I haven't done any mods. Looking at it the PO didn't do any either. Only mod to the exhaust is the all the rust out holes on the tail pipe.

How would that lower the downpipe? It's coming off the block so it would have to be disconnected from the block to be lowered. I may be looking at it wrong or something.
