Default Front Differential Seal Question

I currently have the axles out of the front differential while I replace the ball joints and hubs.

As I pulled each axle I noticed they have diff fluid on the splines. The passenger side has been out a couple hours and I'm getting fluid out the axle shaft tube.

Is this normal? I just replaced the fluid so it's topped off. Is the fluid just getting over the top of the seal or should it never leak even with the axle out?

Its more then likely just coming over the seal because the shaft is out and its a fresh fill.

X2. Do not worry about it at this point, make sure when you install the axles again you clean out the tubes so you don't shove all the dirt and crap into the pumpkin.

Thanks all. I'll clean it up and dry it off so I can see if it's still weeping after the axles are back in. Hope I didn't damage the seals while beating out the that whole assembly.

Might be a good time to change the seals since you're halfway there already.
