Question Front Diff

First, Is it normal to drip a little from the front differential during winter months of it heating and cooling because i can know i diddent blow a seal.

Second, what kind of fluid do i put in a d-30

Hi it may be leaking from the pinion seal or the diff cover but its not suppose to leak, unless its coming out of the overflow tube. You can use 90w gear oil and if you have posi in it you will need to add a friction modifier...Tj

The cold weather of winter and the periodic use of your 4WD will cause the leaks to happen, if the seals or gaskets are getting weak. They are not supposed to leak. Just find the source of the leak and replace said gasket or seal. 80W-90 is the type of gear oil you are looking for to refill your front D30.

The said "Fluid" is coming from the area where the drive shaft goes into the diff. What seal,gasket is leaking can anyone tell me? and got much work am i looking at? Price would be steller too. Thanks

Okay so it's like that, then.......The "said fluid" is 80W-90 gear oil and the "said seal" is your front D30 Pinion Seal. I was just trying to help you out buddy. No need to be a smart.....well, you know.
