Front brakes question
OK, so I was going to change my front brake pads today on my 89 XJ, and When I went to take off the caliber to change the pads I noticed something that I haven't seen. This may sound retarded to some, but the botls holding on the calibers look to be hex shaped like you would need an Allan wrench to take it off. Now I'm confused because, when I did the brakes on my friends 89 XJ, the bolts were 12 or 13mm (I forgot which one) and they took like 15 mins for each side. Am I just not looking at the same bolts or what?

they used two different types of bolts, yours just happen to be machine head bolts (allen head).
it is possible someone else had them changed at some point.

would it be possible to get them changed, If i went to a junk yard would i be able to just pull the ones i want and replace them or would it just be easier to just deal with whats on there?

Mine were the Allen type until I changed the calipers. New ones came with the regular hex bolts. If you have a friend at a part store just grab them.outta the box
I'm gonna replace the rotors and the calibers, thats the only reason i asked if i could replace them with hex, the rotors are kinda rusty and the caliber on the passenger side has a hole so i'm just gonna knock them both out at the same time. and hopefully they have to hex bolts.
