Default front brake pad question (different calipers?)

Went into Autozone the other night to get some new front brake pads for my 99 4 door, and the guy asked me if it had Akebono calipers or these other calipers with 3 little triangles on them. I was like what the hell? Same year Cherokee has different calipers and different pads. I havent pulled the wheel off yet to take a look, but I wanted to see if anyone else had ever heard of that, or its just normal Autozone not knowing their crap stuff.

Thanks

Brakes are kinda important if you know their crap then why buy them?

I installed AZ brakes on my heep bout 3 years ago but I did have to take them back the first time since they gave me the wrong brakes. If you can just pull the pads off and take them with you up there and make sure they match up.

Akebono and teaves calipers were used on wjs... Early ones were teaves, later were Akebono. Idk when they switched.

You have to realize that the people that work at most part stores are young people or others who have limited knowledge of cars and not paid that well. I got in a fight with a woman about trying to buy timken wheel bearings for like 15 min. Got feed up, asked for the manager and had the parts ordered in 3 mins.

Look online, get the part number of what you want then go/call the store. thats the easiest method

Does Autochina pay you to put the same part on when the first one fails?
Do they pay your TOW BILL?

They only exchange their defective part once or twice, then they throw you out!

Pay 5% more cost to get quality parts you only have to install once!
Their "rebuilt stuff isn't even cleaned - alternators, starters etc is untested, and it's just painted silver!

Even if the customer insisted, we would not even try to install their trash.

They even cheat when they advertise - they mark stuff on the shelf with a low price, but at the register they charge more.

Consumer Affairs needs to close them down!

Dealer for all sensors - big difference, very little cost difference.
NAPA or CarQuest - for most everything else - but - they have 2 different qualities - cheap junk or real stuff. Always buy the best and put it on just once!
Buy AMERICAN WHEN POSSIBLE!

I won't even buy Branded oil from Autozone or O'reiley's, not since I caught them several times stealing at the register.
Autozone had a stack of carb cleaner - sign on it said 98 cents a can. I grabbed 10. A the register they wanted about 35.00. I challenged the guy - took him to the big stack and showed him the big sign -
"98 cents is for the 12 oz size, you are buying the 16 oz size."
Then where is the 12 oz size?
"we don't carry it!"

Just the other day i was getting my van smogged - the guy ordered a new cap from o'rieleys. He didn't look at it closely. After two days screwing with it barely running, i took the cap off - a terminal inside was missing! It was obvious it never had one to begin with.
Orieleys finally took it back after significant argueing - they said it was the installer's fault!.

Intentional fraud!
