I don't mind having mine working. Since I put a zip tie on it the vacuum lines stopped falling off. That disco diverts vacuum to turn on the light when it's actually over btw. (that's why three). so i rigged vaccum lines and i can feel suction on the thing on the axle when i pull one of the three off but it still doesnt engauge how much suction does it need???

 

theres vacuum to lock and unlock see colors if you have three vacuum lines this apply,if there no vacuum at the red on the tc switch plug it wont work

 

yeah, remove that vacuum shift motor off the axle tube. you will need a catch pan, some diff fluid will come out.

then you can see everything in there. there is a ring that should slide over the split in the shafts to lock the two together.
i've just fixed a gear clamp around the right side of that collar (ring) to hold it across the split to lock it in permanently, the you can just slip the fork and housing back on, not necessary to fix it back into place, cause it won't be needed.

then bolt it all back up and not worry about it again. i have only had that collar slip off once in 5 years.
