Default Front axle welding?

I want to add some 'reinforcement' welds to the front axle, IE: pass side upper control arm bracket, lower control arm brackets, and I want to weld the axle tubes to the housing to hopefully eliminate the possibility of 'spinning the axle tube'

Is there anything I need to know before welding on the front axle?

Any tips or places to add welds while I'm there?

Thanks

I wouldnt weld on them unless they are broke. Problem is the steel is very thin and weak already and if you start welding on them you will make them way weaker!

I would recomend plating them to re-enforce them. Or maybe cut them off and build some new ones.

While your at it. You can strengthin your upper control arms by adding some 1" bar stock to the inside of it. Just slap it in there and weld away!

I would recomend THIS simply because you can specify the specs on this bracket plus its alot stronger and already notched to fit your axle.

that bracket wouldnt be any good , the control doesnt go inside of the bracket like that it needs to go over it for the upper arms, im ordering the iron rock lower axel mounts , but i cant an upper mount for the passenger side , mine is twisted to hell , does anyone know who makes an upper control arm mount for the passenger side ? one thats actually usable

Rusty's make mounts for the uppers and if you weld the tubes to the housing you have to either heat the housing till it's glowing or use nickle rods or the weld will break.
